Bodywork is a blanket term for treatments that involve soft tissue manipulation for health and wellness. It encompasses modalities such as Structural Integration, Massage (Deep Tissue, Sports Massage and Relaxation Massage), Thai Massage, Ayurvedic Massage, Indian Head Massage, Cranial Sacral Therapy & Shiatsu to name just some.

In Canada most people are only familiar with the term Registered Massage Therapist or RMT. Registered Massage Therapy is a regulated profession in some provinces (not Alberta) and RMTs receive all of their 2200 hours from a single institution. A Certified Bodyworker (ie: Krysta) receives training through various schools and institutions and don't need a specific number of hours to use the title 'Bodyworker'. Because Massage Therapy associations require all 2200 hours training from a singular institution, Bodyworkers may not hold membership with them so Insurance companies generally do not reimburse for these treatments (unless clients have a wellness account).

At The Haven our Bodyworker (Krysta) has an extensive and diverse education, receiving her different certifications in massage, cupping, myofascial release etc, from multiple institutions. You can expect the same level of skill and expertise booking with Krysta as you would receive from a Registered Massage Therapist, plus she brings a relaxed, holistic, less 'clinical' approach to the healing process which is more conducive to a spa experience.

Clients booking with Krysta may receive insurance reimbursement for Reflexology Treatments in their Health Spending or Wellness Accounts. She has a blended Myofascial Massage/Reflexology Treatment that may be booked and be reimbursed for insurance coverage. Contact Krysta for more information.
