Krysta and Sailor in Penticton, BC

About The Haven

The Haven is the vision of Krysta, a Calgary native and The Haven's Owner/Bodywork Practitioner. Krysta ran a vibrant, award winning massage business in New Westminster, British Columbia for over ten years (Link here). In 2020 she moved back to Alberta to be closer to her elderly, recently widowed mother. Wanting to realize a grander vision of her previous business, she came across the future spa's historic brick home and The Haven was born.

The Haven is a customer centered business. Clients are never rushed out the door, receiving their full time in treatment as Krysta does not believe in overbooking hers or her practitioners' schedules. She recommends that people allow for at least a half hour around their treatment time to allow for optimal relaxation. The Haven offers complimentary filtered and re-mineralized water, coffee, tea, sparkling water, homemade Kombucha and locally made treats. We have partnered with many local businesses to bring specially created bath products, soaps, candles and coffee. Keep your eyes out for a spa license to serve wine during your treatment later this year.

Our beautiful relaxation garden (or in the cooler months our glassed in porch/sunroom) is the perfect place to unwind and let your tensions go before or after your treatment. Clients who purchase items at The Haven's 'Made in Western Canada' artisan retail boutique after their appointment receive 10% off  all regular priced items.

The Haven is also pet-friendly, clients who cannot leave their dogs alone at home are welcome to bring them along to treatment.

The Haven upholds strict Covid-19 cleanliness protocol to help you feel safe and stay healthy during your time with us.
The spa holds the Internationally recognized  CIDESCO Sanitation Certification

The Haven is dedicated to the memory of Krysta's late mother, who passed away suddenly in January, 2022.

A portion of proceeds of all sales in our retail boutique as well as all sales of The Haven's Strawberry Rhubarb jam are donated to various animal charities in her memory.

Krysta and her team of wellness professionals can't wait to welcome you into their home away from home.

'Krysta really cares about her clients and her community. Her smile and laugh are contagious. This is what sets her apart.
She is a light in this community and I have only heard nice things said about her.'

The Haven's Guest Practitioners

The Haven is home to two Guest Practitioners, Sonja Oxford-Cranio-Sacral Therapist and Leila Krupich: Reiki Practitioner.
We are excited to have them join the family

Sonja Oxford

In-Body Cranio-Sacral Therapy

Sonja provides cranio-sacral therapy (CST) here at The Haven. Her clinical experience includes being a physiotherapist in the UK public health system for 10 years, followed by a move to Australia, and working in a top sports medicine clinic in Perth.

She was drawn to the field of CST when her 2 children both needed some cranial osteopathy shortly after they were born.  After doing some Upledger courses she was hooked on the subtle, yet deep effects of this speciality. She went on to do a diploma at the CST college in London (UK) 2008.   Adding further post graduate training in biodynamic CST means that Sonja offers a unique style of CST.; coupled with her strong clinical foundation.

“ I love cranio-sacral therapy because it works on so many different levels.  It has given me a modality that not only resolves issues on a physical/ anatomical level, but also releases the emotional components that often delay the healing of physical symptoms.”

Visit Sonja’s website WWW.in-body.ca  to book an appointment.  Read more information about her training,  insights into ‘trauma and the body’, and her somatic therapy approaches.
