Krysta and Alison in White Rock, BC

Krysta's and Alison's friendship has been decades in the making. Sharing a love of the fine and performing arts, they met while attending the University of Calgary's Art History and Dance Programmes. Over the following 20 years their lives took similar yet vastly different routes. Krysta migrated to the West Coast of B.C. to fulfil her passions, dancing professionally in Vancouver, New York and Europe before finding her niche in the healing arts while Alison remained in Calgary, raising a family and simultaneously pursuing successful careers as both a contemporary dance artist and figure skating coach.

In 2020 Krysta found her way back to sunny Alberta and with Alison's help over several glasses of wine, the inspiration for

The Haven- a sanctuary of holistic healing and a place for people in the community to gather, relax and restore- was born.

The Haven upholds strict Covid-19 cleanliness protocol to help you feel safe and stay healthy during your time with us.
Both Krysta and Alison hold the Internationally recognized  CIDESCO Sanitation Certification

We can't wait to welcome you into our home away from home.

'Krysta really cares about her clients and her community. Her smile and laugh are contagious. This is what sets her apart.
She is a light in this community and I have only heard nice things said about her.'

Certified Bodywork Practitioner, Yoga Instructor and Natural Beauty Treatment Specialist

Krysta, Owner of The Haven

Krysta has over 20 years experience and education in Manual Therapy, Yoga, Somatics, Dance and Movement Therapy. She danced professionally in Canada and abroad for 25 years prior to becoming a Bodyworker, receiving her Certification as a Manual Therapist from the Vancouver School of Healing Arts in 2011, graduating with Honors at the top of her class.

Believing our bodies work as a unit, nervous system included, Krysta's sessions are an intuitive blend of Deep Tissue, Structural Integration and Relaxation techniques, addressing the root of tension/pain while also providing relaxation. Her approach soothes the nervous system, allowing the deeper, therapeutic work to set in.  Krysta has recently received her certification in Esthetics, providing holistic beauty treatments with organic products to empower men and women to feel their best from the inside out.

Clients are never rushed out the door, receiving their full time in treatment as Krysta does not believe in overbooking her schedule. She recommends that clients allow for at least a half an hour buffer around their treatment time so they may relax afterwards, enjoy a complimentary beverage on the porch or in the garden and  peruse The Haven's 'Made in Western Canada' artisan retail boutique.

Krysta lives an active life and loves spending time with her rescue dog Sailor. Clients appreciate her sense of humor, her down to earth, no-nonsense attitude and her caring, patient approach to the healing process. Living to help people, she has spent much of her professional career mentoring new health and wellness practitioners. She ran an award-winning massage center in New Westminster, BC for over ten years and wishes to fulfil her ultimate dream of running a wellness center and retreat that supports the whole community here in Cochrane.

Krysta holds a Professional Membership with NAMASTA (North American Studio Alliance) and looks forward to providing Cochrane with her unique style of therapeutic, relaxing and integrative massage.

Alison Gregson, Spa Manager

Alison's approach to wellness comes from a background in movement through figure skating, dancing and more recently, yoga. She wholeheartedly believes in the importance of moving the body every day to ensure health and life-long mobility. The importance of self-care for our health and wellbeing  both physically and emotionally, has never been more critical than it is now.

Alison's experience in skating as an athlete, coach and organizational leader have prepared her well for new experiences and challenges in the spa and wellness industry. She met Krysta 30 years ago when they were dancing together at the University of Calgary and an enduring friendship has continued since. Together, they look forward to bringing the very best in spa and wellness experiences to their customers and turning those customers into friends.
