About The Haven

The Haven is the vision of Krysta, a Calgary native and The Haven's Owner/Bodywork Practitioner who ran a vibrant, award winning massage business in New Westminster, BC for over ten years (Link here). In 2020 she moved back to Alberta to be closer to her elderly, recently widowed mother. Wanting to realize a grander vision of her previous business, she came across the future spa's historic brick home and The Haven was born.

The Haven is a customer centered business. Clients are never rushed out the door, receiving their full time in treatment as Krysta does not believe in overbooking hers or her practitioners' schedules. She recommends that people allow for at least a half hour around their treatment time to allow for optimal relaxation. The Haven offers complimentary filtered and re-mineralized water, coffee, tea, sparkling water and locally and homemade treats for client enjoyment. We have partnered with many local businesses to bring specially created bath products, soaps, candles and coffee.

Our beautiful relaxation garden (or in the cooler months our glassed in porch/sunroom) is the perfect place to unwind and let your tensions go before or after your treatment.

The Haven is also pet-friendly, clients who cannot leave their dogs alone at home are welcome to bring them along to treatment.

The Haven upholds strict Covid-19 cleanliness protocol to help you feel safe and stay healthy during your time with us.
The spa holds the Internationally recognized  CIDESCO Sanitation Certification

The Haven is dedicated to the memory of Krysta's late mother, who passed away suddenly in January, 2022.

A portion of proceeds of all sales in our retail boutique as well as all sales of The Haven's Strawberry Rhubarb jam are donated to various animal charities in her memory.

Krysta and her team of wellness professionals can't wait to welcome you into their home away from home.

'Krysta really cares about her clients and her community. Her smile and laugh are contagious. This is what sets her apart. She is a light in this community and I have only heard nice things said about her.'

Sailor, The Haven Hound

Herrooo I'm Sailor, The Haven Hound and rescue doggo extraordinaire! Sometimes I come to the Spaw to help mommy, you might see me working hard to keep the prairie dogs from coming around, they aren't real dogs!

If I'm there I'll greet you with a wag an a wiggle (watch your shoes I'm a shoe-stealing love bug). I am shy when you first meet me so if you give me space and lots of treats I'll be your best friend fur-ever!

I love helping mommy work, she gives the best healing belly rubs and I do Zen-Dog really well!

I can hardly wait to meet you (bring snacks)!

Emmy, Spoiled Brat

Yes hello, my name is Emmy and while mommy thinks she runs the Spaw, it's really my house.

I enjoy head scratches and warm laps, no belly rubs please I'm ticklish. I hate manicures and enjoy giving dry-needling treatments to client's laps if you would like it added to your stay free of charge.

I will greet you on my terms, if you have an allergy I will likely be more interested in getting to know you so let mommy know when you arrive and I'll try not to take it personally. You can make it up to me by throwing some treats my way and I will go mind my own business in my basement suite.
